Orbit Homes support Easter activity at Nelson’s Journey with egg donation

Orbit Homes has donated a collection of Easter treats for local bereavement charity, Nelson’s Journey, to share with the children and young people that it supports in Norfolk.

A total of 140 Easter eggs and chocolates were collected by colleagues at the affordable housebuilder and given to the charity to distribute. Several of Orbit Homes’ partners also contributed to the collection including MKM, Jewson Wymondham, Taylor Maxwell, Longwater Construction supplies and Civils and Lintels.

Nelson’s Journey helps thousands of bereaved children and young people across the region, providing specialist services and resources, as well as raising awareness in local schools.

Easter can be an especially difficult time for children dealing with the death of a loved one, and the donations will enable the charity to share something special with the young people that they support this month.

Ray Winney, Regional Managing Director for Orbit Homes East, commented: “At Orbit Homes we understand how important the care that Nelson’s Journey offers to young people in our communities is, so we wanted to support their efforts by offering a small contribution over Easter. We hope that our treats help to bring a moment of joy to the young people that Nelson’s Journey reach this month.”

Gary Stevens, Funding & Marketing Manager at Nelson’s Journey, said: “Many of the young people we work with have been bereaved of loved ones they were once surrounded by at Easter, making it difficult for them to escape grief and enjoy these moments like others do. Much of what we do is supporting children to cope, and donations like this help us restore part of that special feeling that no child should have to lose.”
