Orbit Homes helps vulnerable residents celebrate Christmas
We have donated festive food, toiletries and other essential items to help ensure that vulnerable Norwich residents can celebrate Christmas. Our colleagues rallied together to collect chocolates, sweets, cakes and biscuits which will be made into festive bag items, as well as various toiletries, gift boxes, pet foods and warm clothing for adults and children.
The donations were collected by representatives from the local Samaritans to contribute towards ‘Norwich Open Christmas’ – an annual event which takes place on 25 December to give people who are alone, homeless, or in need a Christmas celebration.
For over 30 years they have been providing a Christmas dinner and afternoon tea, entertainment, food parcels, clothing, transport to and from the event to hundreds of people in Norwich and the surrounding area.
Ray Winney, Regional Managing Director for Orbit Homes commented: “As part of our social value commitment, we aim to make a positive impact in the communities where we build. It’s important to remember that Christmas can be a struggle for some people and we hope that our donation helps ensure that people can enjoy the festivities whatever their circumstances.”
We currently have nine thriving new communities underway in East Anglia, comprising a range of affordable two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, including some rarely available new build bungalows. A mixture of purchasing options is available, including market sale and Shared Ownership.
