Foodbank donation helps struggling families in Daventry

We have donated supplies to a local foodbank, to help struggling families in Daventry.

Employees from the Midlands region attending their Regional Roadshow provided over 150 essential items which were donated to the Daventry Foodbank.  The Daventry Foodbank is a service set up and run by the Vineyard Community Church, which works in partnership with frontline support agencies to deliver emergency food supplies those in crisis.

Angela Gee, Senior Pastor at the Vineyard Community Church, collected the donations provided by Orbit Homes employees to distribute to families and individuals in Daventry and the surrounding areas.

Donations to the foodbank included soup, tinned fruit and vegetables, pasta, milk, sugar, tea, coffee, jam, biscuits, breakfast cereal and cartons of fruit juice.

Helen Moore, Group Director of Orbit Homes, said: “It is really important to the Orbit Homes team that we support the communities where we work, so when we arranged our Regional Roadshows this year, we asked each of our team to bring a contribution to donate to local foodbanks. We recognise this is only a small contribution, but hopefully it will have a positive impact on those receiving the donations, especially with the current cost-of-living crisis.”

Angela Gee, Senior Pastor at the Vineyard Community Church in Daventry, added: “We are always blown away when organisations choose to support us and even more so when we receive donations like the one that Orbit Homes gave. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who chose to give to us, this will certainly enable us to continue to support those in our community who are really struggling.”
