Retired, relocated, and right at home at Orbit Homes at Woodland Valley

Moving home can be a stressful experience under normal circumstances, but Sandra and Ashley decided to relocate to a different country at the same time, so we are very grateful that they wanted to share their experience with us.

The retired couple wanted to move from Ireland to England to be closer to their family – they have two daughters both with families of their own, so by relocating they would be able to spend more time with them and their grandchildren.

Their family live in Rothwell, Northamptonshire so the couple registered their interest in the new homes at Orbit Homes at Woodland Valley, an established new-build community in Rothwell offering homes for sale with Shared Ownership, a more affordable way to buy a new home.

They told us: “We wanted to buy a new build home because of the low maintenance.”

They were notified by a text alert when the home they were interested in, a 4-bedroom detached house, was released for sale and started their application to purchase straight away.

We asked about their experience of their home-buying journey and whether they felt supported by the Orbit Homes sales team during the sales process: “The sales team were very friendly and efficient, and we received excellent service throughout the process.”

The couple moved into their new home earlier this year and are now fully settled in. They are very pleased with the specification of their new home – all our homes come with integrated kitchen appliances, carpets & vinyl flooring fitted throughout, and a patio, turf and fencing to the rear garden as standard – so no extras are needed. “We’d rate it 10+ out of 10!” Sandra said.

They are also pleased with the energy efficiency of their new home: “It’s very efficient – we will definitely save on our energy bills.”

And when we asked them what they love most about their new home and the local area they simply said: “Everything!”
