A new home for a new chapter at Micklewell Park
Meet Debbie and Paul, who recently made the move from Worcestershire to join the growing community at Micklewell Park, a popular new development on the outskirts of Daventry. And from what they tell us, it already feels like home.
Here’s what they told us about their homebuying journey in their own words:
“We lived for over twenty years in Redditch, Worcestershire which was convenient for our work, but following retirement we decided to head east towards bigger skies.
We were planning to move to Long Buckby as we have family there and we liked the village. But the buying process did not go well and so we began to look at the wider West Northamptonshire area.
Quite by chance we saw the Micklewell Park development online. It looked spacious and well planned with a strong rural feel to it. We liked that.
Initially we viewed one of the bungalows, but it was a little small for our needs. Then, the lovely Tess from the Orbit Sales team suggested we look at the next-door Roseberry house which was on offer at a lower price and so was within our budget.
The house was not quite finished internally but straight away we liked the space and the ‘flow’ of the layout. Even on a bitterly cold and wet January day it felt ‘right’. We also loved the front outlook onto a small wood.
It must have taken us all of twenty minutes to make the decision to buy. We could move straight in with no lengthy and expensive period of alterations and improvements. Everything we needed was in place.
The Sales Team, Emma and Tess were excellent in helping us make the purchase in line with our sale in Worcestershire. They were supportive, friendly and very professional which was just what we needed during a very stressful time.
The house, which is the first new-build we have ever owned, works very well for us and we have settled in quickly. We love the spaciousness, light and its general ‘ambience’. The garden is lovely during the summer, and we love the sound of the wind in the trees at night (and the sounds of foxes, owls and pheasants.)
To watch the natural world changing on a daily basis in time with the seasons is very therapeutic and is so good for our wellbeing.
The specification of the Roseberry is of a high standard compared with some other new builds we have seen. The kitchen appliances and floor coverings are well fitted and already we are seeing significant energy savings compared with our previous home. The house is warm and it holds heat well. The insulation and photovoltaic panels were an important consideration within our purchase given the ever-upward price of energy!
Friends and family are impressed by the layout and space. They also like the garden area and note how well the kitchen and bathroom/shower spaces are. They also like the spacious nature of the Micklewell Park development and its green spaces.
Overall, our Orbit home experience has been very positive indeed. The Sales Team and Andy the Site Manager have been excellent in helping us settle in. All issues have been dealt with quickly and all members of the Orbit Team have been helpful, friendly, courteous and professional. We could not ask for more.
We like Micklewell Park. It is just a few minutes from the centre of Daventry and yet within walking distance of the countryside. It is also not far from the motorway network and mainline train stations. There is a good community spirit developing here. People are friendly. This has been a good move for us, and we know that we made the right choice in buying with Orbit.”
