Orbit Homes to deliver 48 affordable homes to Suffolk

Orbit Homes is continuing its drive to deliver affordable homes in Suffolk, with plans to bring 48 new and affordable homes to Bildeston at its new development, Weavers Grove.

Weavers Grove will be 100% affordable, including 35 shared ownership properties and 13 for social rent. The development will feature a mix of two, three and four bedroom houses, along with one and two bedroom bungalows, with construction set to begin in Autumn 2024.  

Homes will include Orbit Homes’ high, all-inclusive specification as standard. Properties will also feature Orbit Homes’ sector-leading house designs, which have been matched against the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accident’s (RoSPA) Safer by Design framework and British Standard 5395-1 stairs to reduce the risk of falls.

The development will also utilise modern energy saving components, such as air source heat pumps, solar panels, wastewater heat recovery, as well as electric vehicle charging points as standard.

Once complete, Weavers Grove will also enjoy a large public space at its centre, including with a play area and connecting footpaths to local walkways. Over 90% of the development’s outdoor spaces will be designed to enable nature’s recovery, comfortably supporting Orbit’s wider strategy to enable nature’s recovery in 30% of its outdoor spaces by 2030.

Bildeston is located between Sudbury and Ipswich, allowing it to benefit from the picturesque surroundings of a village in the heart of south Suffolk’s countryside, along with access to a range of local facilities.
