Orbit Homes celebrates World Book Day with donation of mental health and wellbeing themed books to Cambridgeshire secondary school
Pupils at Bottisham Village College can turn a new page after World Book Day, thanks to a donation of mental health and wellbeing themed books from Orbit Homes.
We are currently building new homes in nearby Soham and visited Bottisham Village College with a bundle of new books to show our support for the secondary school this World Book Day.
Celebrated in the UK every year in March, World Book Day inspires children and young people to enjoy the life-changing benefits of reading, and we picked out books to support the pupils with their understanding of mental health, wellbeing and social media.
The school’s new bundle of books includes ‘The Usborne Teen Survival Guide’ and ‘Social Media Survival Guide’ from Usborne’s life skills series, as well as ‘Bad Influence’ by Tamsin Winter.
Sarah Price, Marketing Manager for Orbit Homes in the East, said: “At Orbit Homes we’re committed to making a positive impact in the local communities in which we build and we’re proud to show our support for World Book Day this year with a donation to Bottisham Village College. Reading plays a key part in young people’s education and development, and we’re very delighted to support a local school with some books that can support the children with their reading and help them learn useful tips for managing their mental health and wellbeing.”
Faith Huggins, Teacher at Bottisham Village College, added: “Supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our students is crucial to us and we’re very grateful to Orbit Homes for adding to the resources we provide to our pupils with this donation. These books will encourage our students to build their confidence when it comes to exploring and reflecting on their own mental health and wellbeing, and will help them learn healthy strategies that can support them both at home and at school.”
We purchased the book bundles from Team Reid Reads, an independent bookseller for Usborne.
There are currently just a few remaining three-bedroom homes at our Felix Park development in Soham. All homes are ready to move into and feature our all-inclusive specification, offering homebuyers an EV charging point, flooring throughout, landscaping to front gardens, turf and patio in rear gardens and more as standard.
