Meet Miles and Sasha, who were the first purchasers at Wolverton Mill to pick up the keys to their new home.

Having privately rented for years, Miles and Sasha were eager to get onto the property ladder and find a place to call their own and had been diligently saving for their deposit. So why did they choose a new build home? “Because everything is new, it’s ready to move into, and it has a guarantee.”

 “We lived just a half a mile from here in Wolverton and fell in love with the area. We never thought we would be able to afford to buy in this area, but one day when we were out walking, we noticed the new homes being built at Wolverton Mill and quickly started researching it and Orbit Homes.”

“We found that Orbit Homes had won lots of awards and had good customer reviews. This really put our mind at rest. We hadn’t heard of Orbit Homes before, so we didn’t have a positive or negative view going in. We always loved the Wolverton Mill area, as it’s surrounded by greenery, lots of nature walks, but at the same time is so close to all the amenities, a large shopping centre and is only a 30-minute train ride away from London”.

We asked the couple how they found the whole home buying process once they had made the decision to buy at Wolverton Mill: “It was a little bit challenging at first because Wolverton Mill was so popular, and the Orbit sales team were flooded with phone calls and emails. But once we had been qualified as being eligible for Shared Ownership, the whole process was fairly quick and easy.”

“The sales team at Orbit Homes were amazing and always kept us up to date as much as they could. They gave us a step-by-step process of the different build stages, which meant we could see how close our home was to being finished whenever we drove past.”

Although the couple are still settling into their new home they told us: “Every day we fall in love with our home more and more as we keep finding so many positives, and as we keep making it ours. We spend a lot of time in our kitchen and we’ve pretty much finished furnishing it the way we like, so at the moment, this is the room we like the most. Although Miles does love the shed, as he’s been able to fit all his tools and a little work bench in there.”

 “Without Shared Ownership we would have needed to move home several times going up the ‘property ladder’ to get here. Instead, we have the home we dreamt of today, rather than in 10 years. This has made a big difference to our lives.”
