Daventry Site Manager Andy Leonard has won a Quality Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) for his commitment to exceptional quality at Orbit Homes’ Micklewell Park development.

The NHBC, the UK’s largest provider of new home warranties and insurance, celebrates the Pride in the Job Awards annually and the awards are widely regarded as the ‘Oscars’ of the housebuilding industry.

The Pride in the Job Awards recognise site managers’ dedication to raising standards in housebuilding, showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence.

Judges have inspected 7,500 sites from across the UK to determine the Quality Award winners, and focus on the key areas of consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise, and health and safety.

It’s the second consecutive year that Andy has been celebrated in the NHBC’s annual Pride in the Job Awards for his work at Micklewell Park. Andy was named runner up in the Medium Builder Category at the NHBC’s national Pride in the Job finals for 2025.

At Micklewell Park in Daventry, Orbit is delivering 475 new one, two, three, four and five-bedroom homes across social rent, affordable rent, shared ownership, market sale and self-build. The delivery of some of the affordable homes at Micklewell Park is supported by grant funding from Homes England.

Award winner Andy Leonard, Senior Site Manager at Micklewell Park, said: “Winning this award again is an amazing feeling. It’s really special to be recognised by the NHBC for the dedication, hard work and commitment that our entire team of colleagues and contractor partners show at Micklewell Park every day, as we continue to build quality new homes here for our customers.”

Tim Harrison, Construction Director at Orbit Homes, added: “At Orbit Homes, we are committed to delivering good quality, safe homes that our customers are proud to live in, and we are incredibly proud to see this prestigious award celebrate the dedication towards this that Andy and the whole Micklewell Park team make on site every single day.”

Cassandra Codling, Senior Regional Director at NHBC, said: “Congratulations to Andy who has demonstrated incredible dedication, passion, commitment and leadership to produce homes of exceptional quality. The judges look for site managers who go beyond strong performance and demonstrate qualities that lift a good site manager to an exceptional one.

“The competition is at the heart of NHBC’s core purpose to raise standards in house building. It inspires site managers to make their mark on the industry, earning the respect of their peers and leaving a legacy of homes built to the highest quality standards.”

Andy and his fellow Quality Award winners will now go on to compete for Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards in the autumn, with the NHBC then unveiling the national Supreme Award winners in January 2027.

Micklewell Park is located within an attractive rural setting on the outskirts of Daventry, not far from the village of Welton and just two miles away from Daventry town centre.
