Rackheath Primary School receives £500 donation from Orbit Homes for play equipment

Rackheath Primary School in Norwich has received a £500 donation towards an outdoor monkey bar climbing frame, after we received a handwritten letter from one of their pupils.

Alice, aged 10, wrote to us explaining how having monkey bars would encourage her friends at school to exercise more, improve their coordination, and most importantly, have fun and give them confidence!

We were delighted to receive Alice’s letter and provide a donation to Rackheath Primary School, to enable them to purchase play equipment for the pupils to benefit from for years to come. I really enjoyed reading Alice’s letter, she was very brave to act as a voice of her school to request a donation, and a very deserving recipient indeed!”

Treena Barrett, Trustee Member of the Friends of Rackheath Primary School, added: “This is a fantastic addition to the schools play equipment and we are really grateful for the donation from Orbit Homes. The monkey bars are really popular with all the children, and we are so pleased Alice had the idea and was able to make her idea a reality.”

Rackheath Primary School is located less than a mile from Liberty Park, a brand-new development in Norwich. The new scheme will offer 23 two and three-bedroom homes through shared ownership, and 27 houses for affordable rent.

Work at Liberty Park will commence in May 2023, with the first houses ready for sale in January 2024.
