Orbit Housing Association Social Media Guidelines

Social Media House Rules

Our social media channels are a great way for you to connect as a community, and stay up to date with the latest news and events.

We’d love you to use this space to share your thoughts, comments and experiences.

It is important these channels are a safe space for everyone, so there are some house rules we ask you to follow please:

  • Be kind. Our social media channels should be a welcoming space for everyone.
  • Ask for help. If you need help or ask us a question, you’ll get a response within 24 hours on working days. We’re not online 24/7, but we monitor our channels between 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Send us a private message if you need support. For your protection, we don’t want you to share personal information in the comments section, so we’ll ask you to message us privately to give us information, such as your address
  • Co-operate with us. If you’re not able to engage with us when we try to help, your request may take longer to resolve.

Leave relevant comments, but please only share information you’re happy for everyone to see.

Please don’t:

  • Use offensive language. To make sure our accounts remain a safe space for everyone, any comments that include language that is considered offensive, disrespectful, threatening, abusive, or defamatory will be removed.
  • Share personal information publicly. This includes your own or anyone else’s, to protect everyone’s safety.
  • Leave the same comment more than once. We know it’s tempting but asking the same question within the comments or a private message multiple times slows down responses for you and everyone else.
  • Spam our accounts. If you haven’t received a reply to something you expect a reply to, then please send us a private message to give us a nudge. If you leave repetitive comments without responding to us, we may remove or hide them.
  • Report emergencies online. If the matter is urgent, please call us as soon as you can on 0800 678 1221. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999.

To keep our social media communities safe and welcoming for all, we operate a three-strike rule. If any of these house rules have not been followed and you have received a warning three or more times either privately or publicly on any of our accounts, then we may remove, ban or restrict you from our channels.

From time to time, we may make changes to these House Rules, so please check back occasionally.
