Orbit Homes starts construction of 59 new affordable homes in Cambridgeshire
Our team in the East has commenced construction of 59 new affordable homes at Cherrywood Place in Soham, Cambridgeshire.
Cherrywood Place forms part of a wider development in partnership with Vistry and Picture Living that will bring nearly 200 new homes to Soham. The development has been thoughtfully designed to foster a vibrant neighbourhood, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, green spaces and community wellbeing.
Orbit Homes will deliver 59 affordable homes at Cherrywood Place, comprising 45 one, two, three and four-bedroom houses and bungalows for affordable rent, and 14 two and three-bedroom homes for Sharde Ownership. The development has been designed to offer a range of tenures that respond to local needs.
The first Shared Ownership homes for purchase from Orbit Homes are set to be released in Spring 2026.
Ray Winney, National Builder Director at Orbit Homes, commented: “We are delighted to have started on site at Cherrywood Place, where we are working to expand the availability of quality new affordable homes in the area alongside Vistry.
