Orbit Homes announces 108 affordable properties coming soon to East Sussex

We are pleased to announce that 108 properties will be coming soon to a brand-new development in East Sussex.

The proposed scheme located on Shepham Lane in Polegate, will comprise 100% affordable properties offering 43 social rent and 65 shared ownership homes. A mixed tenure of apartments and houses will be available, ranging in size from one to four-bedroom homes.

The reserved matters application was fully approved at a planning committee on 22 June 2023.  Construction is expected to start early next year, with the first new homes being available in 2025.

Brian Nearney, Regional Managing Director at Orbit Homes, said: “We’re delighted to unveil plans for our brand-new development in Polegate, which has been developed collaboratively with the local authority. With a selection of houses and apartments, there really is a home to suit every stage of life and lifestyle, from first-time buyers and young couples, to growing families and downsizers.

“The new homes are set in beautifully designed surroundings that include a fruit tree orchard, recreational spaces, shared allotments, and extensive wildflower areas to enhance biodiversity. New routes through the development will link to the Cuckoo Trail and into the new play spaces and green areas which are surrounded by existing mature woodland. This much-needed affordable development demonstrates our ongoing commitment in delivering high-quality, energy efficient, affordable homes and I look forward to seeing it progress over the coming years.”

The proposed site is located just 7.6 miles from The Hedgerows, another Obit Homes development in Hellingly Green, Hailsham. The scheme currently has three, four and five-bedroom homes available to purchase via market sale and three-bedroom homes available with shared ownership.
