Foodbank donations help struggling families in Kent

We have recently donated supplies to local foodbanks, to help struggling families in Kent.  Employees in our Southern region provided over 300 essential items which were donated to the Trussell Trust’s Elim Foodhub and ‘Eat or Heat’, a charity which supplies food packages in response to the cost-of-living crisis.

The Trussell Trust is a nationwide network of foodbanks, which provide emergency food and support to people in need.

We delivered the supplies to ‘Eat or Heat’ and the Elim Foodhub, which organises donations into parcels, ready to distribute to families and individuals in Kent and the surrounding areas.  Donations to the foodbank included soup, tinned fruit and vegetables, pasta, milk, sugar, tea, coffee, jam, biscuits, breakfast cereal and cartons of fruit juice.

Helen Moore, Group Director of Orbit Homes, said: “It is really important to the Orbit Homes team that we support the communities where we work, so when we arranged our Regional Roadshows this year, we asked each of our team to bring a contribution to donate to local foodbanks. We recognise this is only a small contribution, but hopefully it will have a positive impact on those receiving the donations, especially with the current cost-of-living crisis.”
