Families enjoy opening of new play area at Orbit Homes’ Micklewell Park in Daventry

Local families joined Orbit Homes to celebrate the opening of a brand-new play area at the housebuilder’s Micklewell Park development in Daventry.

Located off Ashby Road in Daventry, Orbit Homes is delivering 475 new homes at Micklewell Park across market sale, shared ownership, social rent, affordable rent and self-build.

The new play area, the development’s first, is in a vibrant green space at the heart of Micklewell Park. The play area features equipment for all ages including slides, climbing frames, a roundabout and a tyre swing, which children all jumped in excitement to use for the very first time at the opening.

As well as the new play area, Micklewell Park is home to an Orbit Community Hub, a welcoming space where residents can access free advice and support on a range of matters as part of Orbit’s Better Days programme, including managing finances, health and wellbeing, digital inclusion and skills. The Micklewell Park Hub also hosts a range of events in partnership with local groups and community organisations.

Gina Adamou, Orbit’s Community Hub Officer based at Micklewell Park, said: “We are delighted to open this new play area for the residents at Micklewell Park. There’s equipment here for children of all ages to enjoy and families can use the space to create fun, memorable experiences for many years to come.” 

David, a local resident, added: “Our boys couldn’t wait to head out and visit the new play area for the first time. They were so excited to hear that it was opening, and they absolutely love all the different types of equipment that they can play on here with each other and their friends.”

All homes at Micklewell Park meet the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents’ (RoSPA) Safer by Design Gold Standard to limit the most common hazards found in homes.
