A Delicious Taste of Kentish Living

Orbit’s recent ‘Taste of Kentish Living’ event, at its Kiln View development, situated in the new Peters Village in Wouldham, Kent, was voted a delicious success by guests.

Attendees were treated to a sumptuous selection of Kentish goodies to sample, from Chapel Down sparkling wine, to gourmet crisps and dips, and locally wood-smoked salmon, all produced by Kent artisans.

A famous face was present, in her role as an ambassador for her home county, as Kent-born TV and Radio presenter Nicki Chapman enthused about her love of all things Kentish and why Kent is the perfect place to live a wonderful country lifestyle.

She also highlighted that living in Kent also means a short hop to the Capital and other major towns and cities for commuters.

Nicki was also kind enough to pose for pictures with guests, charmed everyone she met, and later presented a surprise ‘Taste of Kentish Living’ hamper to representatives of charity Home-Start, which supports young Kent families.

Orbit’s Andy McDermott commented:

“We have huge respect for the work Home-Start does in supporting vulnerable families, and are delighted to present them with this gift, which we hope will help them raise funds to support their vital services.”

Nicki, who claims to be “only excellent at washing up” was also roped in by Kent-trained chef Paolo Rigolli, to help him demonstrate how to cook some delectable dishes using locally sourced ingredients.

The demos were followed by lively Q& A sessions, where guests asked for cooking tips, local restaurant recommendations, and the low down on Nicki’s connection to nearby Herne Bay.  (She was born there, and returns frequently to visit her Mother!).

Throughout the day, guests were invited to get a first glimpse of Peters Village’s Riverside Boulevard, which makes the most of the new community’s location next to the River Medway, and to tour the Orbit Market Sales Kiln View show apartment and house.

The Taste of Kentish Living celebration was blessed with unseasonal sunshine, and perfectly showcased the glories of life in the sustainable new Kent community of Peters Village.
