A new home for Uckfield couple

 

Hairdresser Natalie Dean and partner Jamie had long dreamed of settling down and buying a home of their own. With Jamie in the Marines, the couple were used to spending time apart, but for the times that they were together they wanted a place to call their own.

 

Keen to get on the housing ladder, the couple began to search for a home but, like many young buyers, high house prices meant that saving enough for a deposit wasn’t easy and their dream of home ownership seemed out of reach.

"We had always wanted to buy our own house together but, of course, when you’re young it’s difficult", said Natalie.

 

"Then we heard about Orbit Homes and Shared Ownership, it’s a really good scheme for first time buyers like us!"

Natalie and Jamie discovered that Orbit Homes had a number of Shared Ownership homes available at the Flaxen Fields development in Five Ash Down. They filled in an application form, underwent a financial check and within nine weeks were the proud owners of a 40% share in a brand new home.

Orbit Homes aim to make the home buying process as easy as possible and Natalie and Jamie’s purchase went smoothly.

"We dealt with Sharon Streatfield who was really nice. She always answered any questions we had and Orbit Homes also recommended a financial advisor and solicitor to us who turned out to be really good which was helpful"

Natalie and Jamie are now busy making their home their own. "I have a massive list of jobs for Jamie!" said Natalie,

"I love it. My favourite part is the kitchen. I love to cook and it’s massive in comparison to my old house, it’s like a mansion!. I feel content now that I own my own home. I have a little boy and it is really nice for him too"
